Tracy in Ky
It makes me a little nervous! lol. When it is time to buy tomato and pepper plants, I wonder if there will be any!! I'm going to go ahead and try to start my own, though last time we tried to start tomatoes from seed it was a complete failure :blushing:
Aggie
Well, there is a *slight* connection between a sponsor of the Food Safety Act and Monsanto. :glare:
Heather in the Kootenays
Our local seed supplier is reporting a massive increase in business this year. I bought really early and will be saving my own this year.
Tracy in Ky
Our local seed supplier is reporting a massive increase in business this year. I bought really early and will be saving my own this year. We are going to try and save seeds too. We bought the book "Seed to Seed" which explains the ins and outs of it, but who has time to read it! ha ha. I do know that you can't save seeds from hybrids--they will produce very little during the second generation. And we learned the hard way that you have to be careful what you plant next to each other. If certain things cross, then you can't use the seeds next year. Our spaghetti squash crossed with our pumpkins last year, so we couldn't save any of those seeds.:001_huh: It made for some strange pumpkins too :D So much to learn...
