Julie in CA
Well, it just so happens that your timing couldn't be better. We just returned from grocery shopping for the next two weeks. :001_smile: So where's the picnic? :auto: Ditto! I just did the monthly shopping yesterday, so we're eating like kings! :001_smile: I'd make turkey sandwiches, cucumber slices, lemonade, and if I had time, I'd bake some brownies. On a normal day, we'd do pb&j on whole wheat bread, but I'd let the kids who wanted it use honey instead of jelly. I'd probably also still have the cucumber slices, or some baby carrots. We'd still have the lemonade, and probably still have the brownies. I guess the only real difference would be the lunchmeat & the lettuce on the sandwiches. Those things are the first to run out after shopping day.

myfunnybunch
We go for last-minute picnics all the time. :) I have a collapsible cooler, and I just throw in whatever is handy. Today I've got: Bread, sunflower butter and jam Hardboiled eggs String cheese Tortilla chips and salsa Yogurt Broccoli and sliced carrots Bananas, apples, raisins Dinner leftovers--rice and steak strips (I wouldn't take all of it though!) We've got reuseable water bottles, so we'd fill those too. Cat

Aggie
Tuna or hummus (We eat tuna straight from the can, but I would have to make up our version of hummus) carrots, celery salad fruit aluminum water bottles We happen to have crackers, a rarity, and flour tortillas, even more rare around here, so they would go today. Kathy in MD
Subway sandwiches chips drink Most people around here would head for Popeye's Chicken, but that tacks on an extra 15-20 min to getting to the picnic. ;)

I am visiting my daughter in MN and we are having winter weather! 6 inches of snowman type snow. Must be an early April's fools joke! Gotta love the north.
