Amber in AUS
So I have been mulling over whether to get RS B or just keep going with the flow with DD and whilst doing my mulling over she has almost memorised all of the math facts up to 9+9=18. As she can complete 2 digit addition and has a sound understanding of place value she is now quizzing into RS C (once she turns 5 in July). So how much review from B is there at the start of C? Realistically could we go with C and take_it_really_slowly? How much subtraction and/or multiplication does she need before going into C. She can subtract without regrouping no worries will intro regrouping once we have those pesky facts down. She was drilling them in the bath this evening for fun  Or should I get B and go through it quickly with her then move on to C? This isn't my favoured option because it will work out really pricey in AUD. Thanks
Melinda
I know it is expensive, but I would move through B as quick as you need/want to, then move to C.
Amber in AUS
Guess I'll just have to suck it up. The sacrifices we make for our kiddos hey. Cheese on toast anyone??
talexand
I love RightStart but it is not the easiest math program to compact or accelerate. We started RS when my son who was flying through Singapore, hit a wall at long division. That pretty much stopped his progress in Singapore math so I decided to switch to RS because it is also great and yet sequences long division later in the books. I can't remember if I started him in C or D but I do remember fighting it and trying to move him ahead where he was learning new material only finding that we had to go back because it was building on things that he hadn't had through RS. Finally I just took a deep breath, realized that this was not something we were going to move through quickly like he did with Singapore math, and when we started doing things the RightStart way we both loved it. I guess thats the good and the bad of RightStart. But once you get integrated it works really well.
