HollyDay
My 11 year old 7th grade dd is finishing up pre-algebra this year. She is doing TT pre-Algebra and Lof Fractions and Decimals. She is working hard and doing fairly well. Math is not her strong point. It is an effort for her. She doesnt hate math - she views it as a challenge or puzzle to figure out. She likes science so she will need math to progress through high school and eventually college. Now, having said that, where do I go for Algebra 1 and up? I want 1 curriculum house for high school. I dont want to jump around and risk holes in her instruction. But, I do not want something that will overwhelm her. I want slow and steady. I want her to get through high school with Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, maybe Trig. If she gets to Calculus in high school - Great! But, if not, then that is fine too. I need a program that will give plenty of instruction, review, examples. Dvd or cdrom would be nice but not necessary. Also, I need to be able to afford it. Chalkdust is really expensive. What is out there that would fit this bill?
Handmaiden
Chalkdust is really expensive. Holly, check out this thread.
HollyDay
When I searched the ISBNs, I didnt find great savings. THe cheapest was the student book for $55. That is not a great deal like what the other posters were talking about. Perhaps I am not doing a thorough enough search. It bothers me when the price is so varied - makes one wonder what is going on behind the scenes?
4wildberrys
Well, if your daughter is doing well with TT and LOF---why switch? There are plenty of good reviews for TT in the upper grades. If you just continued the TT sequence with LOF alongside, she would get all the way through Trig and Calc by 12th.
HollyDay
I am concerned about TT through high school after all the recent negative reviews. And, I do have some personal reservations about it after using it for the past 2 years. It is also a rather pricey program.

Also can you share your thoughts on TT on the levels you used and why you are looking for a change?
