charlotteb
I started English from the Roots Up with DS, 6th grade, this year. I decided to take it slowly and spread it out through middle school. We've been doing only 2 words a week. You would think that would make it easy for DS, but its been the opposite. He doesn't seem to remember hardly anything from week to week. So I'm thinking he's bored with it. I am just having him copy the word, definition and a few examples each week. I try to do a review, and we even made a matching game for it. But what else can I do? Are there any supplements or ideas you can share? If I can find some good ideas, I think I'll start over from the beginning next year. Misty
I've also just started using it with my 11yo 6th grader. Are you using the Latin & Greek Word Study Pages from Notebookingpages.com ? I printed out a whole bunch of them and bound them into a workbook. Don't know if it helps her remember better, but it's easier. I don't expect her to remember every single word. It's all about *exposure* for us. Some she will remember and some she won't and that's fine. I'll go over it again in a couple of years with younger siblings and she'll have more exposure then. But she does seem to be remembering most of them. She has an excellent memory though.

AudreyTN
We are getting ready to start EFTRU and I also bought Rummy Roots. It's a card game. It looks fun.
