Mommy7
I just saw a sample and it talked about crossing out the prepositions, just like Easy Grammar does. I was wondering if FLL carries that philosophy on or if it is just for that one lesson? Thanks!:)
Sew happily ever after
In FLL 3 DD9 had to cross out the prepostional phrases for diagramming purposes. She did not learn how to diagram them from the book, but since she was curious I showed her--that was for free I didn't require it. They also gave several long sentences and she had to cross out the prep. phrases which in essence was just a subject and verb with tons of prep phrases in it. It was getting her to see the S. and V. FLL 3 also encouraged her to memorize the list of prepositions. She memorized about half of them, and is basically familiar with the entire list--she is able to find them easily in sentences. They also taught her find the prep then find the object of the preposition for the purpose of crossing out the entire phrase. I don't know how EG teaches them. Mommy7
EG teaches prepositions first. Then prepositional phrases, so that you can cross out those phrases and easily see the other parts of the sentence. A lot of people say that this method made grammar so much easier for their child that they wouldn't do it any other way. When I saw the FLL sample, I wondered if they do that too. I appreciate your input!:D
