Joanne
It was given to me by a homeschool client for the purpose of buying homeschool organizational supplies. If it helps, I am *seriously* considering Sonlight next year - 2 separate cores. I have 6 students. I have $250 to spend.
LlamaMama
BILLY bookshelves. If you have the wall-space for them, extra shelves means more room to organize your homeschool books. I think they cost $99 each. Our local Ikea has an organization section that offers bookends, wooden containers, magazine files, boxes, all type of things that you could use for organizing your supplies. Happy shopping! Stacey in MA
Who doesn't? right?! ha! Thing is, even if I inherited new shelves, I wouldn't have any ROOM for them - no wall space left. If that's the case, maybe a new comfy reading chair or sofa? For shelves, I have these: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60102152 Mine have the $20 door added on. I needed this particular one b/c it fits in the only space I had left - under a low window. I was so pleased to have shelves with DOORS finally! Cover that clutter! ha! I also have a couple of the smalelr Billy bookcases like these: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90085702. I use them for our library books and each kiddo gets one shelf for their particular books. Maybe you could get each child their OWN bookcase or storage space? Something like these: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80135298 or something bigger like these: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40107872 Have fun! What a wonderful gift! - Stacey in MA
Blessedfamily
$250 can go a long way at Ikea, if you work it right! Bookshelves, desks, chairs, cubicles.....
Chris in VA
I added a couple of those wire baskets that hang under the shelf. You can see them on my blog. I tried to get rid of as much plastic as I could for aesthetic purposes. Happy shopping! Oh, and I'd get one of those swing chairs you hang from ceiling, too! (Can't find it on the website--may not be available now)
chiguirre
I have Billy bookshelves and that's where my SL cores live. Each core takes about 1 to 1.5 shelves with readers and science. Yours will need more, I'm sure so think maybe 2 to 3 shelves each. I take out the current materials and keep them in a book basket (I got mine at Walmart, but I'm sure Ikea has nicer ones). Those Trofast tub storage systems look like they'd work well for keeping each student's stuff in one or two spaces, maybe one for skills and one for content notebooking. My oldest's school is almost completely decorated in Ikea and it's withstood 6 years of autistic kids, so it's tough enough. Happy shopping!
