Sparkle Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 I'm going to a bridal shower tomorrow (the 28th) and one of the things we're doing is making a scrapbook page for the bride. We're supposed to bring an item to scrapbook, like a picture or a poem or a bit of advice. I don't think I have any pictures...so can someone give me a suggestion of what I might bring? Signed, Desperate and Clueless :D Quote
amyco Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Is it supposed to be couple-related? (Sorry if that's an obvious question!) Do you have anything related to the couple's mutual interests? Like if they go to ball games, maybe a fan item from their team? Or a brochure from the last place they took a trip to? Or a menu from their favorite restaurant? Or if you know their favorite band, maybe you could print lyrics from a song. Or if they met in college, something from their school. Okay, I'm out of ideas now. That sounds like a fun shower! Quote
Chelle in MO Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 I'm not crafty *at all*, so I'm not sure I should even answer, but does this verse do anything for you? I wrote it in a bridal shower card for the shower I'm going to on Sunday. 1 Peter 4:8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Chelle Quote

Those are all great ideas. I'm just kind of stuck because the bride isn't my generation - she's my friend's daughter, and I only see her once or twice a year, although she used to nanny for me a long time ago. I do know that she and her fiance are both very musically oriented, so maybe something along those lines. Thanks for all the ideas! Quote

Maybe some Bible verses would be nice. Thanks! Quote
skaterbabs Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 My MIL & I put together a scrapbook for BIL's fiance and gave it to her after her bridal shower. One of the things we did was have the bridal shower attendees each write down a tip or suggestion for the bride-to-be. The tips she received ranged the gamut of "turn down the heat at night so you'll have an excuse to snuggle" to "hairspray and a lighter are very good at deterring burglars" !! (Yes, that last one was real.) SIL has since said she really liked that because each piece of advice was reminiscent of the person who gave it to her, and they make her remember how much each person cares for her.
