Has anyone else had a problem with MP book bindings this year?

We are using LCII and Famous Men of the Middle Ages this year. They only move from the book shelf to the school room table but both have only made it through half of the year without having to be all taped up. The bindings have completely given out. I was just wondering if this is just a fluke or if the quality has gone down. This is the first year that I have had trouble with their books. I am planning to order Famous Men of Modern Times and First Form Latin for next year but I don't want them to fall apart on me.

I have the same problem with our LC II student book. Interestingly, this is the first new book I purchased from MP -- I bought Prima Latina and LC I used and they didn't have this issue.

Since I have two other children who will be using this material, I am considering taking the book to Kinko's to have it comb-bound or spiral-bound, since it only costs a few dollars.

We had the exact same problem with our LCII studen workbook (though it was ordered about a year ago... so I'm not sure what "batch" it would have belonged to). We took it in to Office Max and had it spiral bound. HUGE improvement over the large secions we had falling out all over the place! And my son says it's much easier to work in now that he can get it to lay flat. I'm starting to have the same problem with my LCII teacher's manual. My LCI manual was spiral bound to begin with... I wonder why they changed it?

Thank you so much for the idea. I wish I had thought of it before now. This is why I love this board. I was just wondering if they changed the way they are made because we haven't had this problem with other books we have purchased from them. My LCII teachers manual is spiral bound and I do prefer it.
