Country Mouse
Some of you remember that I posted earlier this week that our beloved chocolate lab was killed by a downed power line while we were on a family walk on the farm behind our house. A representative of our electric co-op called today and spoke with dh. They feel really badly that we lost our dog and wanted to reach out to us. Dh let him know that we are considering adopting a dog through our local lab rescue agency. They offered to cover the cost of the adoption! This is totally unexpected and has brightened my day. It's not at all about the money - no amount could assuage our pain. It is just that I don't expect such acts of human kindness from such a large organization. Jenny in Florida
It's nice when a coporate entity unexpectedly shows its human side, huh? I'm so glad they are trying to do the right thing for you.
Country Mouse
They fixed the line immediately - they arrived within minutes of our call. My mom says that they are liable and that their insurance will cover the expense, but I am sitting on my inner cynic and just accepting it as a kindness. :)
Rose in BC
We always hear about all the negative things people do, it's refreshing to hear something positive. I hope you find your new dog soon!
