Sasharowan
My oldest is going to be in 8th grade next year and we haven't done any timelines yet. I was thinking that we could do a big one on a wall that all the kids could enjoy. The middle ones will be in 4th and 3rd next year. My problem is if I put it up where the 3yo can't destroy it, it is too high to really see. Are there any good ones that would fit into a project board, like the ones for science fair)? Or a link to show how to do one on a project board? Maybe I can do a board for each time period in history. thanks:001_smile:
AudreyTN
I have mine on poster boards. If you go to my blog and click "timeline" at the top you can see pictures. My 2 year old has marked up mine a little toward the bottom, but right now it's behind a door so it's protected most of the time. I have been seriously considering making a new one on a foldable project board.
Zoo Keeper
I have little guys at my house too, and I didn't want the timeline destroyed; we also have very limited wall space or storage space for a project board the size of Texas... my solution was the Book of Time from Sonlight and timeline figures from Homeschool in the Woods. The Book of Time is spiral bound, fits nicely on the shelf with the other history books, and is safe from all the sticky little hands. My guys use it now and love it and can still use it years from now.
ElizabethB
This one: "finished timeline is either 4' by 4' or 7' by 5'" http://www.jkschooling.com/figures.php and this link shows a lot of other options with pictures: http://www.squidoo.com/homeschooltimelines If you makes something yourself in pieces that you string up, you could keep printing and replacing pieces that get damaged!
