Sugarfoot
We lost our beloved Golden to cancer on Saturday. We loved her so much. She died quietly at home in her favorite spot. We have one other Golden who is a year younger, and she's lonely without her. We were planning to adopt 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels soon, and in timing that only God can produce, they joined us on Sunday. I'll try to put puppy pictures on my blog when we get home from piano. Hug your dogs, everyone!

It was one of the hardest days of my life. I'm so sorry for your loss and for your other Golden's loss too. Our cat was our dog's best friend and the loss really affected her terribly. Sugarfoot
Thank you all, so much. I almost cried telling our piano teacher about it today. She was such a sweet, sweet dog. I really appreciate the empathy from my online friends.

Sugarfoot
Thanks, Ria, I thought we would have more time with her. She was 9, and became ill so suddenly. I guess you never know.

Jeannie in NJ
it can be so heartbreaking to lose a pet, but it would be so much worse never to have had that special pet in one's life. When I lost my beloved cat , my dd made me a scrapbook with pictures of him. It is a wonderful book full of memories. And yes, we have other cats, but he was my special boy. JVA
We lost our golden, Molly, two years ago TODAY. It was so incredibly sad, I can hardly explain it. Cancer, also. We had already arranged to add a new little golden puppy to our family - Molly just left us before we expected. A new dog or dogs does help with the grieving. I'm so sorry for your loss. Enjoy the new little ones. That breed is beautiful.

Sugarfoot
I appreciate everyone's sentiments so much. Thank you, all! I keep thinking that I hear her coming into the room or that I see her out of the corner of my eye. I did put a few puppy pictures on my blog. http://www.cottageonthegreen.blogspot.com
