ABQmom
I have a friend whose son is bored with MUS even though they really like the program. What would you suggest she look at that would be more challenging? I use only MUS, so I can't really offer her any helpful advice.
yslek
It would help to know the age of the boy in question. I have one ds who is thriving with MUS, and another who was bored to tears by it. He's really enjoying RightStart. I plan on using Saxon with him next year, but I don't yet know how that will go. :)
ELaurie
is scripted like MUS, and provides a rigorous, mastery approach. The link is in my signature line.

Mandamom
What don't they like about it or what are they looking to change? It is hard to make a recommendation with so many choices without knowing more, IMHO. I think Singapore can be good for some students, but also something like CLE might be a good choice. Right Start has the manipulatives and the math games but not everyone likes those.
