WTMindy
I am looking for something like Lightning Literature for history. The families I work with need something very laid out and not too difficult for the kids to do on their own if they need to. It has to be secular because it is a public school co-op. Lightning Lit has been a good fit because it seems to be do-able for the families I work with. Any ideas for something similar in history? Mandy in TN
http://www.hewitthomeschooling.com/book/bsingle.asp?i=3244 Hewitt has an American History syllabus that uses AMSCO's American History. I know nothing about it other than they have it. HTH- Mandy
Kareni
Hewitt also has a syllabus for American history using Joy Hakim's History of US series. It is geared for a junior high level. Regards, Kareni
mamaof2andtwins
We use History Osyssey, but I am not sure if that is what you are looking for. Jennie
Liza Q
So - you want it to be secular but not a textbook? Like, a study guide for history books like Democracy in America?
WTMindy
So - you want it to be secular but not a textbook? Like, a study guide for history books like Democracy in America? Yes, I think so. I don't know about Democracy in America. What is this? Is History Oddysey secular?
Pam "SFSOM" in TN
Is History Oddysey secular? Yes. And follows a 4-year history cycle.
