RJH
I just bought a laptop to replace my 5 year old desktop. It has 5 years worth of info, pictures, HS stuff, etc on it. How do I transfer all this stuff? What about my bookmarked sites? How do I make this switch a painless as possible? I do have an external backup hard drive that has everything on it. Macrina
I would check out Carbonite.com. Backup your old computer using a carbonite subscription then TRANSFER your subscription to your new computer and restore all your files to your new computer. Takes a few days for the full upload and dowload but toally worth it in the end.
LizzyBee
The last time we bought a computer, we bought a piece of hardware for $40 to connect the computers and transfer everything. It took about an hour - totally worth it!! Unfortunately, I don't know what it's called.
Jen500
I got a new computer last year--I think I used a Firewire cable. It was easy and fast, but I have a Mac.
cajun.classical
I got a new computer last year--I think I used a Firewire cable. It was easy and fast, but I have a Mac. Will that cable be compatible if you are going from a pc desktop to a Mac laptop?
