4kids4me
DD hasn't done much logic...some Mindbenders and we're working through Fallacy Detective. For grade 7 & 8, what do you recommend she do to be ready for high school? I haven't looked at any other logic books, so I'm not sure if we can dive into WTM's recommendations for upper elementary without having done Critical Thinking. Thanks! 4kids4me
Thanks, Karen, for letting me know that I haven't shot myself in the foot by not doing CT. I'll look into formal logic books next year, then. :)
FloridaLisa
Ds2 did Intro to Logic last year and did well. He was 13 and doing pre-algebra. FWIW, he used FD and TT (as well as the Orbiting in Logic series) but none of the Critical Thinking books. He was very much in the logic stage and ready for algebra, and so did fine with starting formal logic. HTH, Lisa
4kids4me
Thanks, Lisa, it does help. I'll move on to Intro. Logic, then! :)
Zoraida
Fallacy Detective covers almost the same material that is in Critical Thinking book 1. Blessings Zoraida
