Guest Dulcimeramy Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 (edited) what comes next? What should we use for 8th if we like LM for the younger grades? Edited to add: I so appreciate the advice on these boards. We've had great success with Charlotte Mason LA methods, PLL, ILL, etc. for elementary, but it is so hard to figure out where to go for higher grades. Edited March 20, 2009 by Dulcimeramy Quote

I'm not sure, tho', that I have a good answer. I would suggest that you take a look at Amblesideonline.org and look at their scope and sequence for LA for upper grades. Some of their recommendations include Our Mother Tongue along with some others like Grammar of Poetry and I *believe* Jensen's Format Writing as well as others. Lingua Mater looks very good, and if you are drawn to that, I would say use it for 7th and then look into some of the AO suggestions. Best wishes, Anita Quote

I hadn't thought to look at AO. I'll probably find some good options there. :001_smile: Quote
Ummto4 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 It seems that the author (Margot Davidson) is writing Lingua Mater 8 and it is currently on beta (tested in Catholic school). You may want to contact her through Hillside to see how she's doing. Quote

Maybe it will be ready by then. Quote
