Barb_
Someone mentioned this on a cat thread last month or so. I tried googling, but came up with one called Allervax, but that company went under. Then I found another by Novozymes that will be in pill form (!), but it is still a few years away from the market. Anyone know if a cat allergy vaccine (as opposed to regular allergy shots) is actually available right now today? Barb
Erica in PA
Hi Barb, I mentioned the cat vaccine in a recent thread, that might be where you heard it. I'm afraid I don't have any details for you, but I can tell you what ds's allergist told him. Basically, last year, after ds tested positive for cat allergies, the allergist told me that there was a cat vaccine that had been developed at Johns Hopkins that he had found to be really reliable-- so reliable that he said to go ahead and get one or two cats, because it would be fine. I know that that vaccine was available at that time because my son had an appointment set to get his first dose-- but by that time we already had our cat and were realizing that ds wasn't reacting to it at all, so we never went ahead with it. Unfortunately that's pretty much all I know. Allervax sounds sort of familiar, so that might be it. I'm sorry I can't help more!

Unfortunately I don't think it's available anymore. Sigh. Barb
