Sharon in SC
How sad! Skiing accident...http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,509477,00.html This article (timed 2:39 today) implies a question mark as to the severity of her situation (brain dead vs "brain swelling"). http://www.winnipegsun.com/entertainment/movies/2009/03/17/8781331.html#/entertainment/movies/2009/03/17/pf-8779381.html However, based on my experience in the Neuro ICU at our area's Level I trauma center, I would venture to say they would not transport a neuro patient with any significant brain swelling (aka cerebral edema) out of the need to keep her ICP (intracranial pressures) tightly controlled. I would say things don't sound good at all which breaks my heart. We love her in Parent Trap.
