laughing lioness, what's the Logos States and Capitals sound-off?

It's not a curriculum guide. It's a "sound-off." The teacher states the name of a state and then the kids recite the rest of the fact list. The facts are random (like you don't have each state's flower, motto, etc)and it's just called, "State Facts." The facts are interesting, usually have something to do with the state industry, point of interest, etc.

For instance, Washington:

 

1. STATE: Washington

2. CAPITAL: Olympia

3. Washington is the only state named after a President

4. Washington produces mroe apples than any other state.

5. Washington's highest point, Mt. Rainier, is atually an inactive volcano.

 

There is an 8 1/2 x 11 copy of a map of the U.S. in the front.

Each page lists 3-5 states with a outline of the state and it's capital next to the facts and a U.S. map at the top of the page.

Sounds neat. I have no idea which book or resource to search for. The link above just sends me to their home page.

Search Criteria: 'geography'

 

Written by Matt Whitling, for 3rd Grade & up, 31 pages. Program contains 5 facts for each state. Includes CD where you'll hear our 3rd grade recite all 250 facts!More Info

Perfect! Thanks! I've never heard of this before. It would be fun to use this method for something like the states.
