Best store for kitchen stuff?

So I'm not much of a shopper and don't really have a clue, but I need a lot of kitchen things like large bowls, new flatware, a strainer, potholders, etc.

 

I've looked at Target, Wal-Mart, IKEA, and Hobby Lobby and I haven't found anything I like. (Did I mention that I'm picky? And cheap?:D)

 

Any ideas where to go? I need real stores, not online, because I need to touch these things first.

I buy kitchen items at TJ Maxx, Ross, Home Goods, Tuesday Morning and other name brand discount stores. Some items can be found at Costco, but they aren't always a good deal.

Are you near an outlet mall or the like? Most of my stuff has come from outlet stores for Oneida, Corning, and other big names. I don't know if it was necessarily cheaper but I did like the selections there.

I generally go to the local cooking-stuff store. Most cities will have one that isn't a chain, but independently owned. Sometimes you can find excellent cheap kitchen stuff in one of those old-style hardware stores too.

I have an outlet store nearby that sells Hamilton Beach and lots of other kitchen stuff at a good discount. Otherwise, I like Target (not the cheapest) or Walmart or TJ Maxx or whatever.
