Peggy in Va
I have 2 dss that will be in 6th/7th grades next year and we will be studying American history. I am considering buying TTC High School Course Early American History: Native Americans through the Forty-Niners as a supplement. However, before I shell out the money, I was wondering if anyone has used these and if they thought they were worth the price. Also, do they fit nicely with any Am. Hist. curriculum (I'm leaning heavily toward the Hakim series), and would 6th/7th graders find them interesting or are they really geared toward high school level. Beth in SW WA
Peggy, I bought that set used here for $30. Post a request on the WTB board and you might get a response. The library might have them. Dd will be in 7th next year. She will read the Hakim series, do LL American and watch TTC videos. Linwood Thompson is great w/ younger students. His costumes and accents are a hoot. Myra
My 7th grader and 9th grader watched the series this year - and really thought they were fun! We watched them every Monday morning - a fun way to start the week. I tried to correlate them with Hakiim's but really couldn't so I just gave up and watched them each week. I highly recommend them - but never buy them at full price! Myra

I am curious though, in what way were they hard to correlate to the Hakim books? Also, did you use the workbook that comes w/ the video; and if so, did it add to the Hakim series or make things confusing? Thanks Peggy
