AngieW in Texas
I let my kids do the books in any order they choose. Since I have the individual books rather than the bindups, it works out well that way. We have also been in science co-ops the whole time. We don't do Science Explorer on a day when we have science co-op. My dd will have completed all but one of the books by the time she finishes 8th grade. She has only two books left (still working through Chemical Interactions), Earth's Changing Surface and Earth's Waters. She has never been very interested in Earth science. I don't know which of the two she will choose to do for her last book.
Sunshine State Sue
We do science 2x per week. We combine Science Explorer with TOPS or Exploration Education. We will not complete all the SE books before 9th. We'll probably cover 5-6. Science is not our strongest subject here.
