Janie
I would love to hear your suggestions for a nicely illustrated Just So Stories by Kipling. Please make yours, even if the book is out of print. Thanks!
klmama
How nice is nice? Our copy is from 1965, with black and white line illustrations by Earl Mayan. There are two drawings per chapter. It's okay, but not exciting.
Laura Corin
It has two extra stories. Laura
Alessandra
We got a version illustrated by Isabelle Brent - the illus remind me of illuminated manuscripts, lots of gold. It is still out of print, I believe -- I got mine from Abebooks. For more kid like illus, I think you might want to go with books that have just a few of the stories, or just one story. For example, The Elephant's Child is available in lots of editions.
melissel
We just went through this here. We opted for the Isabelle Brent version, but this one is enjoyably illustrated too, and seems to have more illustrations per story. I took a bunch out of the library to evaluate which I liked best, and I thought these two were the best. HTH!
Mamagistra
We have this one. The illustrations were done in 1952 by Nicolas. :001_smile:
