Paypal questions

Recommended Posts

I have just added a credit card option for payment on my Paypal account. I have always just used a checking account, so if there were not funds available, it would issue and echeck and transfer funds.

I would like the additional protection of the credit card, but am wondering will those purchases get charged to my credit card now automatically? Will Paypal give me the option of an e-check or my Credit Card?

You should be able to rank your payment options. PayPal funds will be first, then you can choose to have funds drawn from your checking account and if the bank reports insufficient funds to cover a purchase, PayPal will then charge your credit card. After logging into PayPal, go to "Profile" then under "Financial Information" click "Pay List." On the right side of that screen click "Set Available Funding Sources." There you can rank your preferred order of payment sources.

ETA: I think PayPal's deferred setting is PayPal funds, checking account, credit card.

Thanks for the info...but it didn't work. The pay list button showed that I had to set up merchant preferences...and that page seemed geared towards selling, rather than buying.

UPdate. I did a search for funding sources and I think I have it changed. Thank you!
