Hot Lava Mama
I have never heard of this. I couldn't find anything on Rainbow Resources. It looks like it's a "method" of writing, so does there exist a handwriting course that uses this method? My dc's handwriting leaves a LOT to be desired! :o Hot Lava Mama
susie in tx
Palmer was a method that was used mostly in the 60's and 70's. However, it was used in Iowa in the 80's. I know this because I was taught it. The books are no longer being published. I last heard that they were in the public domain, but I haven't checked on that personally. It's a very nice script, but I found it harder to teach than I thought it would be. Instead, we use Cursive First.
ELaurie
here's a link to the program I am using with ds 8 this year. Perhaps it will be helpful - it combines the type of instruction used in previous generations with current research about handwriting and neurological development : ) HTH! Closeacademy
Lol, I saw this and it brought back painful memories of penmanship class back in the '70's and early '80's. :)

Ellie
in public school in second grade. Then I moved and went to another school which taught cursive in third grade but with ZB. I remember so clearly my teacher correcting a capital T. I said, But that's how I learned it. And she sa, No, you didn't. Grr. It wasn't until I was in my 30s that I was at a teacher supply store and saw a Palmer method book. AHA! I *knew* I had learned it that way!
