Elm in NJ
We cook with palmoil so I asked my mom. She had no idea. It is used by people to cook so often just like oil is used over here, that she doesn't think anyone just stores it unless it is going to be exported. That said, I have stored palmoil for 9 months to a year and it has been fine. It just 'sleeps' as my Mom says and you have to put the container in hot water to loosen it. Someone gave me some about a year ago, and I put it in my cupboard and forgot about it. I wasn't sure if I should toss it or not.
Rosie_0801
I have had some sitting around for yonks. It tastes just as funny as it did when I first bought it, so I guess yours is fine. Is it just me, or do other people think it tastes like an old straw hat? :) Rosie
Nestof3
I haven't tasted mine -- and probably the reason it ended up being forgotten is because it was so new to me. I'm big on healthy things -- I just wasn't really sure what to do with it.
Rosie_0801
It's big in African cooking, and African derived cooking such as the part of Brazil with a population with strong African descent. :) Rosie
