Melinda
Useful or a waste of time? What do you think?
AuntPol
Does anyone actually speak Esperanto?
Melinda
I think William Shatner (sp?) does. haha According to wikipedia, between 100,000 and 2 million people speak it, though I have never even known *one*. It's supposed to only take a few months to learn and be an excellent jumping-off point for learning other languages. Again though, that is according to wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanto

Aurelia
IMO, a waste of time. I have never met one person that speaks it. You're better off going with almost anything else instead.
GWOB
You would be better off teaching you kids Swahili. Esperanto sounds nifty, but it is really useless.
AnneC
There is an online Esperanto community. It is fun and easy to learn but it probably doesn't have any productive use.
Rosie_0801
Waste of time. Learn to sign instead. It's really handy when you leave everyone in the car to go into a shop and forget to ask what flavour drinks everyone wanted. You can sign through the window instead of trudging back out and losing your place in line... :) Rosie
