bkpan
We just started TT 7 with my 11yo ds. I am trying to figure out the purpose for the worktext?? Isnt it enough for ds to do his lessons and answers on the computer? The software keeps track of his results and grades, so do you also do the workbook? Thanks! yslek
You're right. The worktext would come in handy if your computer was down or you were having your dc do math while away from home. Otherwise you don't really need it.
ilovemy4kids
We loved having the worktext, My son did all of his work in it and also, this way I could see his work on each and every problem. There were a few problems where he swore he was right and the computer was wrong. Having the text proved it and the errors were reported to and confirmed by TT office. Also, having the explanations in the text was handy for me if I wanted to see how he had been taught to do something. Just my two cents. lovemykids
my dd would get all of the problems right if she also uses the workbook, but would miss a few if she did them all in her head. I guess as long as they have somewhere to write things down if they needed to, it wouldn't be much of a problem without it.
Vanna
If he has a question, I ask him to show me which problem it is in the worktext. I know he thinks this is nuts, but ;) I think that by him seeing it "in a different light" (ie., not on the computer, but on the page) it helps him get over the "hump" of being stuck on the problem. debbielong
We also appreciate having the textbook for reference. The lectures are written out, verbatim, so if my daughter has a question about a concept, I can refer back to exactly what the instructors wrote as an explanation.
