Country Girl
Has anyone here done this workout program? Have you completed the whole thing? What results have you seen? Do you have to follow the diet plan (what exactly does this entail?) or will the workout give you good results as well? Once you've completed the 90 days, then what? I'm really interested in this program but it costs a lot of money and so I'd love to get some feedback. Thanks!
teamturner
My husband is doing it with some guys at work before the workday. I think they've been doing it for about 3 weeks. He loves it....well it's a really hard workout and he can barely move afterwards, but he is getting good and quick results. He borrowed the ab workout and brought it home this weekend and we did it together. I couldn't do all the exercises or all the reps and my stomach is sore today. He hasn't done any of the diet things but he has lost 6 lbs. already. He plans on continuing so I can pm you know more later if you want. I was really intimidated by it and from my dh description of it. It sounds really hard! The ab part was only 15 minutes and it was a killer! Do they offer some kind of money back guarantee? Pamela H in Texas
It's an awesome program. All of BeachBody's videos work WELL. P90X is one of the advanced ones so at least have modicum of ability before starting. Here are the BeachBody message boards: http://forums.teambeachbody.com/eve/ubb.x?s=528299664&cdra=Y You can go there and check out what people say about it, see people's progress as they go through it, etc.

Michelle, Thanks for the input. I'd love to hear how it goes as your husband continues the program. The reason I asked about the diet portion is because I know myself and I know it probably isn't realistic for me to stick to that very well. I've learned a little about the diet program and I think there are some really great concepts in it that I'd incorporate, if I'm not already doing them, but I don't see myself following it 100%. I'm not really worried about losing weight, I'm mostly looking for toning and strength so hopefully I'd get that from the workout portion only. It sounds like your dh has gotten some good results from it already, even without the diet portion, so that is encouraging. I have to admit, I'm also a little intimidated by how hard I keep hearing it is. I know I'm going to have to work hard to get the results I want, but I'm not sure I have it in me:glare:. It seems like the results are fairly quick and so I was thinking that may motivate me to keep going with it once I started. Having someone else to do it with would be good too for the accountability so I may have to see if I can find someone to join me. I really appreciate you taking the time to give me your experience! Thanks!

I'm going to check it out. I'm glad to hear that you think the program works well. I know it will be hard work, I'm just wondering if I have it in me to do it. I'm hoping the results I would see would be a motivator for me. Thanks!
Country Girl
It's an awesome program. All of BeachBody's videos work WELL. The Power 90 and the ChaeLean Extreme kind of caught my eye. Have you used either? How do they compare to the P90X? If it helps.... what I'm looking for isn't really weight loss but mostly some fat loss and toning. After having kids, I've gotten a little soft :001_huh:. I'd really like to finally get rid of the baby belly and turn the fat into muscle. I don't actually want to lose any weight because I'm really at a pretty low weight. I also like weight training but haven't done much in quite some time.... I mostly just do cardio, which I don't like as much:tongue_smilie:. Any suggestions? Thanks! Tabrett
I tried P90X and it was too hard for me. I never could do a pull-up, neither could my husband and pull ups are essential to the program. You can use the bands. I tried band from Target and they were not any good. It might have worked better if I had bought bands from P90X. I did not follow the diet(didn't need to loose weight). The diet is pretty standard except they want you to buy thier protien shakes. The workouts are about an hour long and the yoga is 1.5 hours. You are to work out everyday except one and they want you to do yoga on that day. Keeping up with the sechdule is pretty hard. There are 3 sechdules to follow. We were doing the easiest one. The hardest schedule had you doing 2 workouts a day. I actually pulled a muscle in my stomach doing the ab portion of the workout. (I too was trying to loose baby belly fat). I wish I had tried Power 90 first, but I didn't know about the program until after I had purchased P90X. On the ohter hand, my dh LOVES the program, but unfortunatly, he quit when I couldn't keep up.

I don't want to spend the money and then not follow through. Actually, I'm also worried about the time commitment. That is one of the reasons the ChaLean Extreme program was intriguing to me.... the workouts are shorter and therefore, I'm more likely to find the time to do them. They both have a money back guarantee so I may just give it a try. Actaully, the guilt of spending that much money will probably act as a motivator for me to keep up with the program . Thanks, it really helps to hear all viewpoints!

I'm really interested in this program but it costs a lot of money and so I'd love to get some feedback. Thanks! It is hard but there are 3 options. I chose the lighter options. I cannot do pullups either so I used the bands. I got stockier but I didn't follow the diet and plus my quirky health affected the results. The hardest part isn't the workouts (IMO), it is the time commitment. The workouts are over an hour long each and you really need that time uninterrupted. I can't even take a shower or use the restroom undisturbed in my household. It is not for beginners. If you do this program, make sure you have every weight and piece of equipment ready before you even do work out #1. I am going to do this program again in a couple of weeks. I didn't get the body I wanted but I didn't realize how much it did help my body. Since it is has been a while since I did this program, I notice how much weaker my punches are and how difficult pushups are now. So it's back to the program for me. 4kiddies
Hi. I just started doing 10 minute trainer which is also by beachbody and really like it. You get 5 workouts that are 10 minutes each. You then can do 1, 2 or 3 workouts each day depending on how much time you have. I chose this product because my brother loves P90X but I just don't have an hour a day to devote to it. HTH! Jenn in Mo
I've been doing p90x for about 2 weeks. I have no change in my weight whatsoever. I don't see a difference in my body, but my husband says he can tell I'm toning up. It's hard. I've pulled something in my shoulder....just doing the stretches! But it's kind of fun. The idea of having a "ripped" body in 90 days is just too tempting not to try. I am SO out of shape and tired of it! Have you looked into the 30 minute Shred programs? http://www.amazon.com/Jillian-Michaels-30-Day-Shred/dp/B00127RAJY I did one of these and liked it a lot. Pamela H in Texas
I did Power90 before doing The X. You will see big changes doing Power90, especially in your strength. However, most women that start the X cannot do a pull up but in time can do at least one. There are options other than pull-ups though. I use the bands when doing The X. But after 60 days of Power90, could do a regular pushup and felt great about that, especially because I AM overweight. Anyway, I don't have the other, so I can't share about that. I like the Cardio Cabaret of YBB, but don't do the yoga and such (religious reasons). I like Hip Hop Abs also but I don't think I'm coordinated enough. I have wanted to get Turbo Jam also. The thing I like MOST about The X is because it's so many workouts. I tend to like to switch things up A LOT. Having so many work outs in one program helps with that. BTW, I do have the 30 day Shred (Jillian Michaels, not BeachBody) and that is a short but GOOD workout.

I have been doing the same old thing for the last 3 years (yes, that long) and I'm really losing motivation. It has also becomem too easy and routine, and I know I need to step it up. I think I'm going to give one of the programs a try.... I just need to decide which one. Thanks!
Tess in the Burbs
I have most of the P90X on my computer....and dh got it from you tube I swear. You may not need to pay for it. keep searching online.
