Shannon C
Just curious, could you combine ages on Bigger Hearts? For the new school year, I will have a 7 and 5.5 year old. I am not sure if LHFHG would be too simple for my 7 y/o, we've been through MFW 1st grade and we've done a ton of extra stuff. I guess I'd have to look at it, but she's really ready to dig into American history. I've looked at this online multiple times and am drawn to it, but not sure. I own MFW Adventures, but I keep being pulled to HOD--maybe b/c it might be easier for my ds to tag along?
Shannon C
Oops, meant to ask about Beyond, not Bigger. But thoughts on either are appreciated!
Mandy in TN
Have you looked at the HOD placement info? http://www.heartofdakota.com/placing-your-child.php I would also ask over on the HOD boards. I have Bigger and plan to use it with my little guy who will be 7yo in the fall. About Beyond- the suggestion I keep reading on the HOD boards is that y'all could do the left side (the history and what-not) together as a family and then do LA and math at the level appropriate for the child. Shannon C
Thanks, I didn't even see that they had boards. I'll check it out over there!
crazymom4
Shannon I am doing Beyond this year and my girls were 7 and 5.5 when we started in August...it has been awesome...I do have the Bigger guide to follow for the older dd's LA and dictation, but we do Beyond together and it has been great! Shannon C
Thanks, Joy. That's good to know that it worked for those ages for you. I'm just trying to see if I can avoid having to do two programs. I guess I don't see why I couldn't modify Beyond for the younger one unless it's really deep or involved. He'll be doing his own math and phonics anyway. I'd rather not have to buy a separate LHFHG program for him just for the history, etc. Then the next year we could combine for Bigger. I like your doggy picture, btw!
