For our upcoming year, we'll be using the following novels:

7th grader ~

The Children's Homer

The Golden Goblet

The Bronze Bow

The Eagle of the Ninth

Archimedes and the Door to Science

5th grader~

Blackships Before Troy

The Wanderings of Odysseus

In Search of a Homeland (Lively)

Gilgamesh (McCaughrean)

Also the following non-fiction:

A Little History of the World

Augustus Ceasar's World

The Story of the Greeks

I'm looking for pick-up and go study guides, primarily for the fiction books, but also for the non-fiction if they exist. I like guides with a vocabulary assignments.

I've already checked Progeny Press and they have only one.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Stacy

Covers most of these books. Maybe you could get a cheap used SL 6 IG for the book study part.

There is a free one for the Bronze Bow here at

http://www.centerforlit.com/pdfs/TG05BB/pdf'>http://www.centerforlit.com/pdfs/TG05BB/pdf'>http://www.centerforlit.com/pdfs/TG05BB/pdf'>http://www.centerforlit.com/pdfs/TG05BB/pdf

If this link doesn't work just type in http://www.centerforlit.com and go to their guides. The Bronze Bow is their free download.

Sorry, it doesn't work-I'm not very good with links. The second link will work and it's under teacher guides.

  • 1 year later...

Dragging up an old thread...

Lori D if you check this thread...

How long - weeks/days - do you think it takes to complete the study guides and reading for the Hillside Combination and the Novel Inquiries Ancient Lit guides? I am going to get these and wonder how much time to allow for each book and study guide.

Thanks so much for putting this list together. It came in very handy for what I was searching for.
