Ruthie
My daughter just flies thru it, gets everything correct. I cannot keep up with her, so is it alright she works on it on her own? Ruthie
Ellie
R&S's English series is written so that the dc can work independently (as long as you're checking the work regularly).
mnllj7
If she is going that fast and enjoys it, by all means let her go. that is awesome, wish my dd would like it that much. nancyt.:)
Kisa in CA
Man, do I wish that was how my son responded to R&S grammar! What grade is she in? I would certainly let her do it independently if she is able to. I'm all for independence when possible!
newlifemom
My dd does it on her own. She corrects her daily work, (I trust her) and brings to me any work with more than 2 mistakes. The tests I grade. Of course, my own grammar instruction has now gone downhill. Oh well.
Daisy
Pretty much how it works in my house. I check her work but she does it independently.
amyco
My 5th grader could absolutely do it independently, but I don't let her because then I wouldn't know all the cases of pronouns etc! My 3rd grader, no way could he do it independently. I don't think he would when he is older, either. Probably just depends on the child. Alphabetika
My 10-yo dd (using R&S 5) does hers independently after I do the "oral review" with her. If she has questions, she can ask me as she's reading the lesson. She's the one who asked to do this independently and she's done very well. I assign her most of the written drills and we correct them together. If a completely new concept is being introduced (recent example: direect objects) I do work on it with her to make sure she understands. This is our first year using R&S English and we love it!
