Cross-post: Foerster's Algebra--Is the 2nd edition the same as the 3d and Classics?

From what I can remember from my own search, the 2nd edition includes instruction in basic that is dropped from the 3rd. Other than that, it's pretty much the same. The 3rd and the classic are nearly identical.

Hi, Paula, The 2nd includes instruction in basic what? Is it a lot of stuff or just a bit? Thanks for your input!!

Basic programming, as in the computer language. The algebra instruction itself is supposed to be much the same.

Ah, okay. I just saw basic and thought perhaps you were referring to the fact that basic math concepts (arithmetic) were included heavier than in more recent editions. Thank you so much for your response. Is it better to just skip that stuff?
