mom2agang
Ok I finally placed my math order. Now I need help. How do you schedule singapore math with the WP and IP? Does it say in the HIG?Also we will also be adding LOF. How do I tie that in? This is for level 1 and level
MeanestMomInMidwest
We follow the HIG for scheduling purposes. It has it broken down into which pages to do out of the textbook, workbook, tests and extra practice. If you're doing CWP or anything else, you've got to work that in on your own. We use the Standards edition
nmoira
IP is best done after a topic is completed because its revision section is brief and not matched to the text. You have a few options, including (1) doing the corresponding IP exercises right after the workbook topic is completed; or (2) working one or more topics behind as review. We use IP instead of the workbook, but I have DD work through CWP one to three topics behind, depending how quickly she gets through them. fractalgal
Ok I finally placed my math order. Now I need help. How do you schedule singapore math with the WP and IP? Does it say in the HIG?Also we will also be adding LOF. How do I tie that in? This is for level 1 and level 4 For the Singapore math part, what we do is the text, workbook, and then use the IP workbooks for review before an exam. We do the topics at the same time they are taught (so, for example, we do the text, workbook, IP and CWP all with the same level we are covering.) When I spoke with a rep at Singapore Math she told me the intention of the authors is that the books are to be done at the same level. However, since it requires some creative thinking to solve some of the CWP, it may take the child several tries to get the answer. In other words, the math is challenging so one should not always expect easy, automatic answers. Everyone is different and has their own unique way. What I would do is to schedule LOF a couple of days a week and then a few days of Singapore. Another idea is perhaps a few weeks of Singapore and then a few weeks of LOF. I like variety. Good Luck :)
