If you do Classical Conversations----

how substantial is the music and art instruction? I know what is officially covered and how they rotate, but I wondered how effective it really was. Do you still add on a program like Artistic Pursuits or do you enroll in other art/music classes?

We'll likely be doing homeschool choir (Kodaly method) and art projects from the SOTW activity guide. I'm just wondering if that's enough. I know that "enough" is relative, but I want them to have a good exposure to the arts.

I'm going to an intro meeting next week, but I'm trying to wrap my mind around what I'm hoping it will "count" for.

We were going to start a classical conversations in my area, but it fell through because of costs. but it seems the art is dependent on the mom that is teaching the art. It is a great program, for a co-op type environment. and their history is mainly memorizing all the veritas history timeline, so when they get to the logic and rhetoric stages, those pegs will be in their brain to hang all the knowledge on. nancyt.

Thanks for your answers. I'm actually now looking into doing an art enrichment program, in addition to the CC.

The two explicit art segments are only 6 weeks in length. Why not consider supplemental art for the rest of the year? Or, take the Brooks book and follow through with it at home. The art and science projects done in CC are pretty much exposure oriented, that it somewhat related to the history/science memorization schedule. You can do as much or as little of it at home if you want. FWIW, I really like the book they use for the artists and, as a tutor bring in appropriate library books to class to talk a little more in depth about the particular artist, while they are doing their projects.
