"Homeschooling the Challenging Child" by Christine Field?

Recommended Posts

I read it once every single year since I bought it. It was very helpful to me. Very down to earth. She doesn't make you feel like you have to be a wonder woman.

Most libraries carry it so just ILL it and see for your self if it is helpful. I have seen them in Half Price books a lot.

It focuses a bit more on behavioral challenges than on learning disabilities, if that's the issue you are facing. For homeschooling kids with LD's, I recommend Sharon Hensley's book, "Homeschooling Children With Special Needs".

I also just got, and am currently reading, a new book by Kathy Kuhl called "Homeschooling Your Struggling Learner".

Is Kathy Kuhl's book the best homeschooling book for children with special needs? If having two educational assistants and many other accommodations/modifications in public school don't improve the 30% or three-year delay of 11-year old DD by the time she starts high school, I may have to reconsider my doubts about homeschooling her.
