Frontier Mom
I have been searching the posts and seems many use LL8 for 9th grade. Am I correct? This year we have used TOG2 but I feel like we are covering way too much too fast and not really studying in depth. I am really liking the looks of Lightning Literature and think this may be exactly what I am looking for. I am considering starting my rising 9th grader at LL8 and my next two at LL7. They will be roughly 6th & 7th and I think they can do their together. What do you think?

mamaof2andtwins
My 9th grader uses LL8. This is partially because I didn't want to deal with the Scarlet Letter in 9th grade. I realize I could have skipped it and used the rest, but I made a different choice. I also use it because I thought he might be missing something if I didn't. Cindy in WA
I used LL 8 in 9th grade & LL 9 in 10th grade. We added extra reading, spelling, and grammar to round out the English credit. Our daughter learned a lot and overall, enjoyed the course. I wouldn't hesitate doing it again. Cindy
Lori D.
Sounds like a good plan to me. We're using LL8 with our 9th grader this year, and many people have successfully used LL7 with a 6th grader. :)
