Rhonda in TX
I noticed you said on your blog that you were moving to a new location. I don't know if you know this, but Homeschool Blogger will shut down your blog with no notice if you advertise that you are leaving. It happened to Barb at Harmony Art Mom. I looked at your new blog and couldn't see that you had transferred your old posts to your new blog. Maybe you've save all your old posts, but I wanted you to be aware that this could happen. fivetails
Homeschool Blogger will shut down your blog with no notice if you advertise that you are leaving. Yikes, you mean if you say that you're moving to a new blog site? - why would they do that to somebody? (and who sits around browsing hundreds - thousands? - of blogs looking for comments like that anyway?) ...kind of a nasty thing to do, shutting someone's blog down on them before they've had a chance to save/move/etc posts and photos and such.... :001_huh: I'm not "Laura Corin" - obviously LOL - but this just struck me odd. I've never used HomeschoolBlogger, though I read some blogs on there....
mommaduck
I used to use them. Kinda glad I don't anymore if that is the way they are. Wordpress doesn't care if I also have a spot at Blogger, etc and vis versa. Seriously, some people have more than one blog and some will move back if they are unhappy at the new location. I also know people that keep a blog at more than one spot to keep in touch with others.

I don't know if she ever found out exactly why they deleted it, but it happened right after she mentioned she was changing the location. I seem to recall that HSB considers that advertising of the other site and they don't take kindly to it.
Tutor
How do you transfer posts?
Karenciavo
I advertised on HSB when I moved to my .Mac blog, they didn't delete me (I'm back at HSB now.) Maybe it happened right at the time they were cleaning up and getting rid of old blogs, they do that every now and then.

harmonyartmom
I don't really want to get into what happened to me but I will verify that once I posted that I was moving my blog to Blogger.....they decided very swiftly to delete my blog with no notice. They referred me to the Terms of Use page. http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/signup.php?task=terms'>http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/signup.php?task=terms'>http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/signup.php?task=terms'>http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/signup.php?task=terms I must say that it was a huge blow to me and that I have since come across blogs that out and out say they are moving to Blogger and their blogs were not deleted. It doesn't make a bit of sense to me and it still makes my stomach go into a knot when I think about it. It left a very sour taste in my mouth. On the other hand, Blogger has been a sweet deal and I have not looked back. If you have a blog on HomeschoolBlogger, make sure you agree to those terms. READ them all, especially their right to terminate your blog. I would also suggest a back-up of your blog entries if there are things you want to keep. Just a few words for someone who was devastated by HomeschoolBlogger. You will not find mention of the incident on my current Blogger blogs because they emailed me and told me I was not supposed to talk about it because of the terms I agreed to....read those Terms of Use. http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/signup.php?task=terms Barb-Harmony Art Mom
