5knights3maidens
I love to look at curriculum but I feel like I've looked at all of it. Does anyone else feel this way? I want something new to look at. New workbooks, readers, new fiction, non-fiction, science, etc. Every time I do a search I end up with everything I've seen before. Wow, does this sound pitiful or what...:tongue_smilie:
Miss Marple
I know what you mean. And, now that we've identified the issue, I vote that you develop something new for all of us;)
5knights3maidens
Oh, how I would love to! But, my brain can't seem to get away from lapbooks at the moment...my son wants me to make his booklets. He does not want to use anyone elses.
ElizabethB
Everything old is new again... Syllable divided books from the late 1800's: http://www.thephonicspage.org/On%20Reading/syllabledividedb.html'>http://www.thephonicspage.org/On%20Reading/syllabledividedb.html'>http://www.thephonicspage.org/On%20Reading/syllabledividedb.html'>http://www.thephonicspage.org/On%20Reading/syllabledividedb.html Pollard's Synthetic Spellers and Readers, a late 1800's version of Sing, Spell, Read, and Write, lovely pictures, very fun to browse, you can see it all online (scroll down to bottom, indented books): http://www.thephonicspage.org/On%20Reading/syllabledividedb.html Don Potter has some good finds as well, scroll down to "Valuable Reading Programs from the Past," about 1/3 of the way down: http://www.donpotter.net/ed.htm And, of course, Webster's Speller (linked below), but that may be feeling "old hat" to you by now if you've seen any of my posts! There are some great old books on Google Books, search in the advanced mode for full text only, before 1923, of the topic you're interested in finding books for. Katrina
Um, yea, all the time. :glare: I think for me, a lot of it is when I started homeschooling everything was fresh and exciting. Then I get a couple of years under my belt, some curric works and others don't, and I sort of feel blah. I want something to catch my attention and make me feel EXCITED again! I might reread TWTM when it comes out just to catch that newness again. (Because, you know, the two older versions I have sitting on my self are SO yesterday)
SonshineLearner
I'm enjoying reading new books for myself. Climbing Parnassus and LLC again and again...Trying to start bits of Latin...Looking into Greek..and I can't wait to start Ancients...SOTW I and Famous Men of Series...and SWB's ancient for adults....(What's that called?) Maybe after all this I can decide on the curriculum that I want when I see it... Carrie:-)
