katemary63
According to my twins, we have 5 horses in our back yard. I can't see them, though. This was me! You better start planning now for adding horses to your life. Some girls just have them in thier blood. You will be pestered to death if you don't! My parents finally gave in when I was 13, but I did have to pay for may own expenses - I got 3 jobs to do it. I am now 45 and own 6 horses w/ one one on the way! I never grew out of it. They are so much fun!
AnnetteB
I dreamed of having a horse since I was a little kid. When we moved here 17 years ago and could have one our kids were little and horses looked too big, so we bought a Welsh Pony, Pollyanna. The children all treated her like she was a doggie and had little interest in riding, lol. The neighbors bought her from us and she now lives on the other side of the fence. Dd, 10, now dreams of owning a horse someday. I think we are horse owner wannabes.
Ottakee
I have 2 that I board but will be bringing them home in April---if the snow ever leaves so I can put up fencing. Then we hope to add a 3rd--a pony in the 13-14hh range.

Mekanamom
You know my girls and I fall into that horse owner category! And guess what? My SIL has offered to come give my girls weekly lessons. I love horses, love my girls, love Clinton Anderson's instructions, and can spend all day teaching my kids at home, BUT... I have discovered that I am NOT a riding instructor. AT ALL. So it's a real treat to have my SIL (who is a dressage instructor) take over those lessons. Yippee! Now I can concentrate on my own horse goals and let the girls get on with theirs. :D
Liz CA
Please pm me. One sweet gelding here. He is 21 years in 2009 and we have stopped riding last year because of some ligament issues. Now we just have long conversations together instead of long rides.
mamaof2andtwins
My daughter would own one if she could. The closest she is going to get at this point is a half lease which we hope to start in March. Does this count? BTW, this is my 12 yo dd who is at the barn 3-4 days per week even in this nasty, nasty cold. She just loves the horses. If she leases the horse she wants we will have an 18 year old Arabian mare. Jennie, who knows way more about horses than I would have ever imagined and is still learning...
