Hoggirl
Because of the ice storm, our power went out on Tuesday for about 8 or 9 hours, and, according to the USDA, that meant I had to ditch everything in my refrigerator. It's practically empty, but I am kind of glad I was forced to do this. There wasn't anything "gross" in there, but I sure had a LOT of half-full bottles of junk. Ria
How cold was it when your power was out? If it's cold, you can always put everything outside until the power comes back on. Ask me how I know, lol. At least you have a clean fridge! Ria
Unicorn.
I'm glad you have a clean fridge, but I wouldn't have pitched anything after a power outage that only lasted 8-9 hours. 8-9 days yeah, but not a few hours. A fridge w/ the door kept closed is colder than a cooler. But hey! You have a nice clean fridge, and I don't!
Melissa in Australia
I wouldn't have chucked anything out until 24 hours. we had the power out for 19 hours last week. it was 35oC everything was fine, except we had to eat the ice-cream after 10 hours. it was very soft serve.:D
