HappyGrace
Many are preferring for their math sequence to hit Algebra in 8th grade. How would this be managed with CLE? (Dd is in 3rd grade.)
MIch elle
CLE math 7 has enough math (algebra, geometry, & basic math) that you can skip CLE math 8 and go to algebra 1.

HappyGrace
so there's no Pre-Algebra needed at all-just CLE up to and including Level 7, then straight to Algebra I and they do fine?
mamaof2andtwins
I am glad to know this because I know my oldest dd won't get to CLE Math 8. Jennie
MIch elle
so there's no Pre-Algebra needed at all-just CLE up to and including Level 7, then straight to Algebra I and they do fine? You chose for grade 8. I have CLE math 7 but haven't use the whole level. My oldest used Chalkdust algebra I for a while and stopped then did Saxon algebra I for awhile then stopped (I got sick & hospitalized 3x's); then he did 2 lightunits in CLE math 7. CLE math 7 is VERY similar to Saxon algebra I (at least the first 50 lessons in Saxon alg.I) except CLE does math in smaller steps (as I recall). Ds is doing very well with algebra I (9th gr) at his private high school. Look at the CLE scope & sequence chart to compare it to other pre-algebra programs (BJU table of contents, & Saxon & others). Don't take my word for it - educate yourself to make sure this is the path for your dc. http://www.clp.org/store/browse/283_scope_sequence
