Storm Bay
Has anyone hear read Kiki Strike? There are two books out. Who it is for: anyone who likes to read books about intelligent, gutsy, adventurous (but NOT promiscuous) girls who save the day. These are not your cool girls, in the traditional sense, but I think you'll find them cool, ifkwim. Who it is not for: anyone who prefers books where girls are seen in traditional role. No foul language, no sex. Lots of fun, albeit somewhat dangerous adventures. They do disobey in the name of the greater good, but my dd knows the difference between fiction and reality on this one. Not great literature, perhaps, but not fluff writing, either. My 13 yo loved the first one, but "mean mom" got the second one for herself and won't let her read it until she has a good week of doing her school work first. (I do get it for 4 weeks.) hornblower
My 14yo dd loved them! I didn't read them - but they do sound good so maybe I'll grab them for me.
LBC
Thanks for posting this. I just put them both on hold at the library. My teens read so much that it's difficult to keep a good supply of appropriate books on hand for them. Lori

This suggestion (and your review) is very helpful. Thanks!
Storm Bay
Glad you like this. I'm finding it harder and harder to come up with books dd really likes, and she's usually swimming when I go to the library.
