mo2
I had DP on my wish list to help me better discuss the books we read with my children. But, after reading some comments and reviews, I am not sure that this is what I'm looking for. Is there another book that teaches parents how to discuss literature with their kids? Bayt ul-Hikmah
I thought Deconstructing Penguins was great! It has really helped me ask thoughtful questions about literature with my students and lead in-depth discussions. Maybe you could check to see if your local library has it? Edited to add: I've used this book primarily with older students I have taught (grades 3-8), although it is helpful even with my Ker. Country Girl
Maybe Classics in the Classroom by Michael Clay Thompson. These are the two I was trying to decide between and after a post a few days ago, I decided I'm going to purchase the Classics in the Classroom one instead. Here is a link to that discussion in case you haven't seen it: http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77762
