swellmomma
I am wanting to do a poetry study either this summer or early next fall with my older 2 kids. We currently use writing strands for writing but I don't think it covers poetry, or if it does not for a few more books. What resources do you recommend other then general poetry anthologies for learning how toe analyze and write poetry in many forms?
arcara
These were recommended to me when I asked a similar question: The Grammar of Poetry Classical Writing Poetry Both of these teach the elements and terms of poetry and give opportunities to write poems. We're just starting The Grammar of Poetry, so I can't really give you much personal experience. I'm sure someone else will chime in here. JudoMom
I haven't used it yet, but plan on using Imitation in Writing's Poetry Primer, followed by their Grammar of Poetry.
