Do I need both TM for abecedarian?

Recommended Posts

In all honesty, you probably don't need it for level B. It's pretty obvious from the workbook what letter sound you are working on, so most of the time when we move to another unit, I say "Now we are going to work on the XXX sound" and have DD repeat it. The only thing the TM has that the workbook doesn't is the reading and spelling chain activities, but those can easily be done on your own if you have a set of letter tiles (we used the ones from DD's AlphaBug Soup game) and aren't necessary if your child can segment and blend well.

We are working our way through the first half of B, but I don't think the 2nd half changes or adds much.

I am just finishing up Short A with my 7yob and I rather liked having the teacher manual. I don't like making up stuff on the fly. And we didn't write in the book, so I can resell the whole set when we are finished next week.

I am ordering next week as well. I just can't decide if I want to get A1 and B1 or just go ahead and buy all 4 books right now.
