Melenie
I am looking for one book or a series of books for myself. I found an old text book at a thrift store and have enjoyed reading it for a while, but now I am getting into some of the roman wars and it seems too dry. I am sure there are better resources for older readers. I have the Well Educated Mind and will read all the books suggested in there, but need one book or a set of books that will chronologically set it out for me. I would like to start with the outline of history then fill it in with WEM's suggestions. Any ideas? Thanks
hsmomof2boys
I just purchased a book called "The Timetables of History" by Bernard Grun. It says it's the "World-famous reference that tells who did what when from 4,500 b.c. to the present day--now updated for the 21st Century." I thought it would help my son get a time-line reference. We haven't used it much yet, but it looks promising, an easy-to-use reference. I got it from Amazon.
