Daisy
DD has an assignment for Awanas and would love it you'd be willing to answer four questions for us. You can PM me the answers if you prefer and it's okay to be as vague as you need to be. Thank you so much! 1. Where do you work? 2. What is your job? 3. What are some things you don't have where you live that we have here in America? 4. What can we pray about for you?
Dayle in Guatemala
DD has an assignment for Awanas and would love it you'd be willing to answer four questions for us. You can PM me the answers if you prefer and it's okay to be as vague as you need to be. Thank you so much! 1. Where do you work? 2. What is your job? 3. What are some things you don't have where you live that we have here in America? 4. What can we pray about for you? 1. We work in Antigua, Guatemala. 2. My personal job is a lot the same as in the US--mom, housekeeper, teacher. My dh's job is to coordinate outreaches for teams who want to come down and work doing construction, VBS (vacation Bible school), orphanage work, evangelism, mercy ministry--feeding programs, distributions, special projects--building wheelchairs for the disabled, and many other projects! 3. Everything here is a lot of work. You can't pay your bills by mailing them, you have to go to the bank where they have an account and deposit the money in their account (sometimes the lines are really long and you have to wait up to an hour to do it!) There's not drive-thrus here, in Guatemala City there is but not in Antigua. I miss my family and friends. It was hard to learn the language--I still struggle with it at times! We don't have 911. If there's an emergency, we have to figure out how to get help ourselves. We don't have Moutain Dew:001_huh:, we don't have Dairy Queen:glare:, we don't have licorice:001_huh:, and we don't have really good chocolate:glare:. Chocolate chips are about $6 a bag and the brown sugar here is not even remotely as good as the stuff in the US! Sometimes we really miss that stuff!!!!! 4. You can pray for direction for our family. We will be done with our committment to our base here at the end of this year and we would like to know from God if He wants us to stay here or move to another base somewhere else. Hope this helps! If you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask!
