Can you tell me about Idaho?

We may be relocating and are interested in learning more about the area. Are there opportunities for Christian homeschoolers like coops, etc.? What's the economy like?

I no longer homeschool in Idaho, but I grew up there, and we moved away in 2001.

 

The laws are great: no reporting, no testing -just school. In the Boise/Nampa/Caldwell area there are many homeschoolers and many co-ops and groups. Boise has a lot available.

 

As far as weather, Idaho's rather diverse. The Southern part is high desert, but drive an hour north of Boise and you're in a mountainous region. The weather/climate will depend upon what area you're looking in.

 

I LOVE Idaho, and hope someday to move back.

Idaho is a great place to homeschool! We have a statewide Christian organization that holds a convention in June, and a statewide organization that protects our right to homeschool.

Which part of Idaho will you be relocating to? I grew up in the Northern part and sadly moved away a few years ago. There are homeschool groups in both the Coeur d'Alene area and Lewiston that I know of. It was a great state to homeschool in.
