hsing1
We may be relocating and are interested in learning more about the area. Are there opportunities for Christian homeschoolers like coops, etc.? What's the economy like? Any and all information would be a blessing. Thanks! Hillary in KS
I no longer homeschool in Idaho, but I grew up there, and we moved away in 2001. The laws are great: no reporting, no testing -just school. In the Boise/Nampa/Caldwell area there are many homeschoolers and many co-ops and groups. Boise has a lot available. As far as weather, Idaho's rather diverse. The Southern part is high desert, but drive an hour north of Boise and you're in a mountainous region. The weather/climate will depend upon what area you're looking in. I LOVE Idaho, and hope someday to move back.
anissarobert
Hi, If you see this, PM me and I will send you a free copy of the homeschool newsletter I publish here in Boise. If you relocate, I can help you hook up with all the groups. Idaho is a great place to homeschool! We have a statewide Christian organization that holds a convention in June, and a statewide organization that protects our right to homeschool. Please let me know if you have any specific questions. I forgot to mention that we also have a support group for classical home educators. www.classicalathome.com will get you in touch with us. hsmomof2boys
Which part of Idaho will you be relocating to? I grew up in the Northern part and sadly moved away a few years ago. There are homeschool groups in both the Coeur d'Alene area and Lewiston that I know of. It was a great state to homeschool in.
